Back in the days there was a campaign launched by Govt of India to plant more trees.....the slogan was "plant one tree for every house". A wise guy was prompt to ask the govt... "give me a house, I will plant a tree". Likewise, give me the GC, I will definitely follow the rules.

Since no one cared about this, EB3-ROW was free riding in EB2 numbers despite heavy demand in EB2.
Everyone knows that EB3 is heavily retrogressed compare to EB2. No doubt about that. The only solution for this is to increse the numbers. Everyone is working hard. I was transferred to a IO yesterday. She was rude, told me that I should not be calling since they responsed to the first SR that was opened by my attorney on 09/01.
Not sure if you read the other thread, but I have got 2 responses from USCIS so far - one for inquiry that was sent when I took the Infopass and the other one that was opened by my attorney.
Response that I got for inquiry from my Infopass was " Based on the additional documentation provided, your case qualifies for expedited processing. You should hear back from us in 60 days. If you do not hear back in 60 days, please call us back".
I havent provided any documentation to them in the last 2 years, after my FP was done in September 2007.
So when I talked to the IO, she read out that message to me and in a subtle way asked me "What part of that message do you not get"?? I was trying to explain the situation to her, and before I could finish - she said "Sir, I got to move on and take other calls, please dont call back before November 15th".

If you heard what the restrictionist lawmakers have said about what to do with illegal�s, this retrogression makes sense. The restrictionists want to make life miserable for illegal�s by making it difficult for them to get jobs, this way the illegal�s would go back on there own.
They are trying to do the same thing with us legal�s (without saying it aloud). If you are from India it will take you at least 6 to 8 years (if you are lucky) to get a green card. Frankly in the fast changing technologically advanced world how many people can hold on to the same job for 8 years straight, they cannot. People lose jobs because they are laid of, the company has run into bad times, the technology has changed and the company wants to move you to a different role or position etc, this way a lot of people have to switch jobs which invalidates thete green card process. They are making your life miserable so that you are broken down psychologically and finally will go away either on your own or because of some arcane rule, example the labor should be applied more than one year before h1 expiration etc, a living example is that Indian guy who posted recently that he is leaving US to work for Microsoft in Canada. This way they get the best of both worlds, you have young people in the prime of there life without any diseases who do not burden there medicare system, working hard and paying social security taxes and medicare taxes (which they will not get back) and in the end they are kicked out or go away on there own.
I smell a huge conspiracy behind all this USCIS, DOS mess. I believe the only reason they did is to make legal immigrants life miserable. They did all this so they waste EB visa numbers again this year and make legals wait for years before they get LPR. By the time the an individual numbers comes for the green card some of them might become illegals and some after years of frustion have gone back home.

Today 10/16/2007 there is another update. Why is USCIS looking at my old H1B approved in August 2003 for an employer I left in 2004? I am perplexed!

India has not moved an inch (may be has retarded in its growth) forward when it comes to quality of life or individual freedom or Govt.-public relationship. You can't do just with money. Money doesn't buy everything one need for a peaceful,happy life.
And, an individual or a group in India cannot fight against anything that is evil in India. The option for people is to go places. So, the politicians are responsible. If your attitude is "I will get on IV JUST because I WANT something" and "If I got it, I don't care" and "If I have questions during naturalization stage, I will get back on IV" may not mean that you have a great life or enjoy life after GC. Life after GC is not that rosy as you think. Big companies - hiring is the same for GC/h1b so u will not have preference. If you are independent and want to do something on ur own - it is not easy either - it is more stressful and challenging - this is life my friend, 95% of startups fail and these people are seen nowhere after that. Very few people are successful and that too with a lot of difficulties, hard work and faith. The "enjoy life" after GC is generally not U but your next generation (children) will bear the fruits. they will enjoy all the freedom and comforts until reality hits them in form of career and family life - this is something everyone faces.
A lot of people love to be on IV - say, if someone has answered someone's question on IV and the person is benefitted - thie person is extremely happy for the other person.
A lot of people who are active actually love and are passionate about what they are doing. Lot of people want to do their 2 cents or more - this is what this organization is all about.
Over the past 2 years of my association with IV - I have seen a lot of stones turning soft, a lot of people who never wanted to get in, are now very active and highly motivated.

Hi Guys. I am trying to take an appointment in Jan. The earliest I can get is 11th in Kollkata. I have booking to travel to US on 26th. After listening to the delays here, I am confused where to go for stamping or return with AP.:confused::confused:
Please advise; guys who have been through stamping recently. Appreciate your feedback.

While I was waiting for GC, I finished MBA last year. I have a Masters degree in Comp. Sc. also. It has been 4 1/2 years with no clear indication regarding the LC alone. Hats off to the screwed up concept of BEC. If my LC is not processed in time, I might leave next year.
I am thinking of doing a part time job on H-1B also. If that pans out well, atleast I will forget the pain of GC for a while.
