- post IV poster in your local grocery stores, temples and restaaurants. (the poster is in resources section)
- try to get friends from other nationalities to join IV.
- If you are a graduate of A US university pls contact your alumni association and inform all their members.
- Send an email to all your friends. (template in resources section) informing about IV

IV now has clout which should be immediately used for a permanent fix. Two issues which might not require laws being passed can be implemented to ease the backlog situation that will be created.
1. Recapture lost Visa numbers- A just and reasonable demand that they cannot refuse.
2. Remove per country cap- It is stupid to look for diversity in a category based on intellect. The whole category is created for improving America's brain power so a country cap does not make sense.
Which is better to say" We want 10 people with OK intellect from 10 different countries of the world" or " We want 10 absolutely brilliant people-period"
If a country has more than 10,000 qualified people then approx. 10 of them will be super intelligent! This has to be true. In addition diversity adds to different ways of thinking and is the reason for soft quota for MBA admissions. Hence, diversity quota will be there. The only thing we could ask for to assign diversity score for each country. For example, India with 2000 languages is very diverse compared to other country say Iraq. Hence every country should be allocated quota based on their diversity score.

I called all representative's office. Called all Hispanic causas Representative too. I called Alabama Congressman Jo Bonner's office...........Also called Alabama Senator Jeff Session's and Senator Richard Shelby's office. My wife will call them from different phone.

Here is the response from TSC:
According to TSC, it is currently processing 485 visas based on filing date order. There are a large amount of cases that are being processed and your case will be processed in receipt date order. With the limited amount of visas that are currently available between now and September 30, 2009, there is no guarantee that your case can be completed before the end of FY 2009.
For whatever it means, I have seen tons and tons of cases with receipt date/notice date and PD after me that have been approved. Heck, all my dates are current on outside the processing time so I dont know what to make out of it.
All we can do is keep our fingers crossed...... I wish I had received the card instead of the letter today :)

I think we should not allow Leechers to start new threads. Conservation of resources should also be on the priority list when raising the money is such a difficult task.

I am seriously thinking of PMP. If I don't do that I think I will have nothing to show even if I do get GC (which seems unlikely at the moment).
somegchuh..yeah...let's go get ourself a PMP cert???? Maybe we (and others who are interested) can start a PMP study group and get it done soon!!! Then by the time we all get our GC, we can work as a PM making at least 150K a year? Sounds good??? :D (sigh..trying to humor myself in such depressing moment!)

On a personal level, it might be helpful to you, however there are others here who want to --start their own company, change employers, go back to school and over and above all be able breathe without feeling suffocated by the system, and reap benefits of the multiple contributions they have made, for, so many years, to the american society.

I was just thinking about this the past couple of months and maybe we dont even need to ask for Green cards. MAYBE our approach should be "Let the H4s work". Once husband and wife can both work, the green card can take its time. Right now the Biggest problem with most people is that "my spouse cannot work!". Maybe if we lobby for h4s to be eligible to work that may solve the problem.
Now before this suggestion creates a HUGE "Dhoom", this is JUST a suggestion. The current political climate does not look like it is going to be easy in any way to put any provisions for Green card increases. Besides if the logic is "Let temporary workers be temporary", this approach fits in with that logic, coz we are not asking for GCs (permanent residency), just more temporary EADs.

How will it march steadily when we have less than 3000 numbers for the year?
I am sure we have many pplicants with PD in 2002 and 2003. I would be surprised if PD moves beyond April 2002 in FY 2009.
Assuming no other miracle happens!
