Everybody is trying to survive in this world ..diff people react differently to same situation..lying on resume/achievements is not illegal(reason y no body is prosecuted because of this fact..they are simply denied that benefit) however its unethical ..but iam not here to preach ethics.

If we do not get this problem resovled who will ? All the members in this forum please start taking active part in determining your future your families future and your kids futures.. please do not be short sighted or procrastinate. Take Action NOW, we can do this, please encourage one more person to join in and contribute, talk to other people who are not aware of our plight and educate them, contact your local lawmakers, be active on the forums, support the core members and each others, come on now guys.. may be all of us cant do every thing but try some things at some of the times and some other things some other times :) -- does that make sense .. I wish I was very rich I would have made a HUGE donation to IV to fight for their cause... I really respect the core members for their tenacity, dedication and inner strength to carry on this effort.. admist so much uncertainity and so many obstacles .. and the best part is .. most of the people who will benifit from it dont want to do much about it ..... ok .. I am exhausted now.... Logic Life .. how do you do it .. keep churning out .. one passionate and well thought out post after another .. Thanks guys for all the posts. I guess I have a little ignorant question. If I am married does my wife need to be here for me to file her 485. I am getting court marriage done in July 2007, and hope to file my 485 as soon as I have my marriage certificate, I am sure will be filing in July, but my wife won't be coming to the US till Jan 2008, which is when we have will have the ritualistic wedding. Does she need to be here for any paperwork. She could come on H4, but her parents won't let her stay for long. Does she need medical tests as well from civil surgeon when I file for her? I am hoping she can come in Jan on H4, and then get her EAD along with mine.

I don't think I agree completely. I called all of the lawmakers for the CHC campaign, and while you are right, I spoke to the assistants, they were all polite and promised to pass on the message, which is what matters in the end.
Lawmakers know that we do not have voting privileges yet, but they also know that we are contributing to this economy far greater than many. I do not remember the source or the thread, but this question was asked before about an online petition, but ironically, that is shown to be not as effective as phone calls.
If you ask me to sign a piece of paper, I might do it even if I am only vaguely supportive of the idea. But I will certainly not take the trouble to call (or better yet) go to the senator/congressman's office and present my case in person unless I really beleive in it.
regarding your "saar.. support the bill..." comment, I would not go there if I were you. Thats a whole different can of worms and borders on an insult to a) people who are not from that part of India (or for that matter the world) and b) more importantly, for people from that part of the world who are in this country since a long time and have taken the pains to lose the accent.
Finally, even if one speaks in an accent, is that the sole reason for a lawmaker to disregard him? Then should a Tennessee senator not listen to someone from New York because the New yorker speaks English in a New York accent?

I believe the guy or girl who made comment on Immigration website has more like a grudge and might be carrying some old IV mistakes like lack of transparency we had in past etc. But gotta understand, everyone makes mistakes and improve.
More, I don't understand that if that guy doesn't want to contribute coz he or she is poor - thats fine. He will still get benifits from IV efforts.

In addition to our drive of sending out letters to the respective lawmakers, what does the group think of visiting one of the local Dept. of State offices in-person to get answers to some of our questions?
1. How is the visa spill-over from EB1 to EB2 being distributed, are there no chances of EB3 candidates receiving a portion of it?
2. What is the rationale for EB3 being unavailable (or moving at snail pace when available) when EB2 dates have been moved to 2006? (Please don't get me wrong, just asking questions)

Growing up I use to goto an organization wearing kakhi-chaddi, so I grow up hating Mahtma Gandhi (but that ws long time ago),
I now has so much respect for this Man, I wonder how was he able to cheer and integrate my fellow Desi's ;) almost 60-80 years ago, if I think about it now seems almost like a miracle.
We really need to look into his life and find some answeres, as we have long battle and it is just getting started

not sure how to do this. can some one in this thread create a poll just for eb3-India just to see a ball park number of people waiting in eb3 india and for how long they are waiting (may be we can start from jan 2001 all the way till jun 2008). This atleast would give us an idea of how many IVers are waiting in eb3 queue..pls discard if you did not like this idea. thanks.

One has to remember that the famous "AC21" is also a memo! My only concern is that we need to have a really good reason why we think AC21 is legal, and should be abided by, by USCIS, but the latest "E-E Relationship" memo is not legal, or is unjust...
AILA wants to fight this on the grounds that such directives cannot be mandated in the form of a memo, but laws have to be passed. What if USCIS retracts the AC21 memo on the same grounds?

I agree with PlainSpeak, it is better to get it evaluated. Also, sorry i did not read your earlier post cleary. Both my friends did a MBA and not a MCA. I know of a collegaue who is in the process of applying under EB2 and she has 3 year MCA degree in addition to her 3 year Bachelors.
