Sanju,
I'm one of the past victims of your abusive language. ( remember " You are truly a Pakistani terrorist")
Honestly, i was very surprised to see that from you. Your past posts are an example of the kind of insight you bring in.
Hope you can speed dial that other side!
-GCisaDawg
Guys!
Sincere request to everyone. Please stop this discussion right away. Please for your own and your family sake, concentrate on FOIA. If you have extra energy, please help NeedHelp! to prepare what data and in what format we need. But don't spit negative energy here.
After a long time I am seeing some positive movements on IV, please don't kill it.

I believe the guy or girl who made comment on Immigration website has more like a grudge and might be carrying some old IV mistakes like lack of transparency we had in past etc. But gotta understand, everyone makes mistakes and improve.
More, I don't understand that if that guy doesn't want to contribute coz he or she is poor - thats fine. He will still get benifits from IV efforts.

I have earlier contacted Atlas to verify if they are registered with any state's Department of Insurance. They did not even reply.
IMO, it is better to buy an Indian Insurance. For American insurance, the only way to make them pay is go to court against them but with Indian Insurance, you can lodge claim with Insurance Ombudsman in India which is fast and effective. The only flip side is, US medical facilities might not recognize Indian insurance (though most Indian insurance collaborate with US insurance for claim processing)

I have contributed $200 to the Omnibus fund drive and intend to contribute a lot more in the coming months. However, I would not have been a member of IV if this were a paid site.
I prefer that the contributions are voluntary and I am an example of someone who joined IV as a member and then CHOOSE to contribute to the cause. If IV had asked me to become a member by paying $200, I certainly would not have joined.
I vote to keep the site free and allow free flow of information. By making this a paid site we hurt the cause that IV is fighting for and we hurt potential members who would contribute.
I want to ask members who have contributed $500 - $1000, if this site asked that much for you to join would you have joined? If so would you continue to contribute after paying this much money? After paying money to a pay site there is a sense of entitlement that people feel. They feel that they have already paid their due and they will not contribute additional funds thinking that they have already paid once when choosing to be a member.
I urge the administrators and core member to please keep this site voluntary and free.

Your position on will be part of IVs position.
We all have our roots in H1B. So, my friend what is your position?
What is IV's position on more H1Bs?

If you have an older priority date (EB-2 or EB-3) such as 2004 or earlier, it would most likely be a waste of your time and money to file your adjustment now. It could take over a year and a half (if not longer) for a decision to be reached in the lawsuit, and chances are that your priority date would come current before then, making you eligible to file your adjustment.[/I]
--- Your lawyer is mistaken about "Waste o fmoney". There is no waste of money. FIling now will have rejection and thus no money waste. "Waste of time" is also can b ecounter argued as most of the people have already prepared their docs so therr is no additional waste of time and even for second time filing for most of the people, just changing date on forms wouldbe necessary so thus again it would not be a waste of time. My 2 C

I received "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident" email this evening(Sunday). The only emotion i feel right now, after being in this country for 9 years now, is relief.
i have an EB2 140 with by current company with jan 2006 priority date.
i tried to port priority date of my EB3 140 with my old company (Sep 2003) and that worked out finally.
initially i sent the letter to port date in march 2009.
I resent the letter to TSC last august. I noticed a LUD on my case after this letter on both 140s.
Thank You All.

it is pure exploitation of physicians on j1/h1 visas. And everyone know about it, including the law makers.
People finishing residencies and fellowships on j1 visa go through some unscroplous lawyers and agencies and manage to get a waiver job by spending at least 20 to 25K.
What I want to say is, entire system is like this. Just not consulting companies

if flowers campaign was a grand success, why not try this?
There is nothing to lose
Flower Campaign - Smart Strategy - Hence grand success
This - Foolish and crazy thought... forget strategy... Photo on a Grand Children's wall with garland(shoes) on it.
I sense " lost mind" just reading about this idea... So that is the start point for you to count what will be lost if this is done.. You or any other can add up other piles on top of that..

one of the reasons we have not succeeded is precisely because folks want to use their own "intellect" and not do what "IV" needs when it really needs you.
we do all of the above and more. if you like something more than the other that's perfectly fine and dandy. but if we can't collect a critical mass for an action, we lose effectiveness and shoot ourselves in the foot.
in a group this large you simply have to help the commom action and agenda for success. each opinion is important but at the end of the day the common action must be done by all, as far as possible.
paskal - i actually agree with your basic premise.....once the larger body agrees on a basic vision and strategic plan - the tactical manuevers to achieve the vision in line with strategy should be left to leaders.......
but this principle generally works in two scenarios - either when the leader (or lead group) is appointed by a higher authority (like employees following the lead of a CEO appointed by board of directors which in turn has been "elected" by shareholders) or when the leader has been directly or indirectly elected by the constituents.......
Let me give an example.......an entrepreneur starts a company with a great idea.....grows it and nurtures it with great love and passion......dedicates his whole life to the idea and the venture.......then the entrepreneur needs a larger canvas and more money to grow the vision further.......he takes the company public or gets private equity funding or raises debt........now the new owners/ stakeholders decide they need to change the management and decide to elect a person of their own choice........suddenly a rank outsider replaces the entrepreneur as CEO........the new CEO now has the legitimacy and owners' backing to dictate how the company should function.....
I welcome red dots but take a moment to absorb what I am saying and whether the principle is wrong......

UN,
Have there been any updates on this case that you are at liberty to share?
Thanks in advance.
nothing yet.
Longest I have seen a 485 denial go without getting reopened is 5 months.
If a person doesn't have h-1b then six months is a magic number. If person overstys six months and uscis ultimately denies it again then person is in terrible situation (3 year bar).

I am no expert on this but if labor substitution is eliminated it will remove anywhere from 30 to 50% of labor cleared from BEC. I know a lot of people who have applied for labor 2 to 3 times, they applied for a new labor every time they went to a new employer. It is these extra labor certifications that are being sold
Its a good thing....these old labors are now selling 10K upwards

When I am trying to reqruit someone from dice, I see resumes that are heavily bloated to an extent. I see similar resumes with names changed and some words changed both from same city, so maybe they are from same consulting company, i have to dig through in detail to figure out a good resume and finally the chances are that I may have gone through a bloated resume are high.
One suggestion that is in above post is good, INS can releease skills associated with filing h1b petition and match with skills on resume.

logiclife, ragz4u,
All things considered, do you think it will be a good idea to call up the members to remind them that IV needs contribution?
If you think so, then we can form a group of, say, 10 people and each of them would call 200 members nudging them about contribution.
I will volunteer to be on the group.
